Review: Stauffer’s Lemon Snaps & What To Do In Philly?
JFG Nation, I’m going to be in Philadelphia soon, and so I am crowdsourcing this question for you Philly readers or people who have been there before: what should I do there? Is there a place you recommend I eat?
I’m open to any and all suggestions: cheesesteak places, breweries, fine dining, museums, ball games, shopping, landmarks etc. Give me your suggestions in the comments below, please! And thank you.
Today’s junk food: Stauffer’s Lemon Snaps!!
Stauffer’s Lemon Snaps are an old school cookie, but after my awesome experience with Stauffer’s Apple Pie Snaps, I needed to buy these.
When I opened this bag of Stauffer’s Lemon Snaps and sniffed, I smelled great lemon notes – like I was smelling a fresh baked lemon cookie. I love lemon. These smelled good.
Like the Apple Pie Snaps, these cookies had a wonderfully crunchy texture – each cookie was a little bigger than a 50-cent piece and was strong enough that it “crunched” while remaining nice and light.
The flavor of these Stauffer’s Lemon Snaps was wonderful – not as overwhelmingly lemon-y as I’d like, but still good. The Apple Pie Snaps tasted like Apple Pie. These were more like a molasses cookie tinged with lemon flavor.
Still, a very tasty cookie – the molasses cookie was sweet and each crunch brought out more and more citrus flavor. While not as complex as the Apple Pie Snaps, the satisfaction payoff was the same.
The Apple Pie Snaps were better but these are a decent buy.

Mutter Museum, obviously. I’ve been three times. Only takes like 1.5 hours!
1. Eat a cheesesteak at Tony Luke’s (forget Pat’s and Gino’s – both overrated).
2. Run the Art Museum steps like Rocky Balboa (maybe go in too).
3. Visit the Reading Terminal Market (indoors and the best food stalls).
4. Explore the Franklin Institute.

I grew up at Rittenhouse Square. I imagine that everything I knew about the city is just a memory now and most of the city has changed. But, I imagine that the park is still beautiful. Just get a soft pretzel from a hot dog cart and enjoy the beauty that William Penn inspired. I do remember a great sub place at the corner of 19th and Pine (3 blocks from the Square) where you could get really good Italian subs and [cheese] steak sandwiches. Enjoy!
