Review: Quest Rocky Road Bar & Better Group: NWA or Public Enemy?
JFG Nation, I wanted to thank you for answering yesterday’s “poll.” All of you answered correctly (i.e. shared my position) that AC/DC is far superior to Van Halen. And here’s the thing – I don’t hate Van Halen. I think “Eruption” is one of the best guitar licks of all time. But it doesn’t matter if you’re talking Roth or Hagar – AC/DC ROCKS HARDER.
I’m curious to see what your other musical preferences out there are, JFG Nation. I’ll throw this out there – what’s the better rap/hip hop group: NWA or Public Enemy? Let me know in the comments below!
Today’s review: Quest Rocky Road Protein Bar!
Quest! You love sending me things. I got these a while back, so they’ve been in stores for a few weeks now. Still – if you’re making a protein bar that tastes like Rocky Road, you’re damn right I’m going to try it.
When I opened the bar, I smelled a good cocoa aroma. I could see chunks of almonds and white something (marshmallow?) poking out, so it looked this at had some texture.
Biting into the bar, the flavor was sort of fudgey to me – it had that soft chewy consistency. This wasn’t a milk chocolate flavor, it was more dark chocolate with some hints of sweetness where the white chunks were. The white chunks weren’t marshmallow-y per se, they reminded me more of the white confection chunks that you find in Pepperdine Farm cookie sometimes.
The almonds were there to give some texture, and overall, I’d say that this didn’t taste bad – it was a sometimes sweet chocolate protein bar with some good almond chewy texture. Not the best Rocky Road I had at all, but not a bad tasting bar. I’d definitely eat it again, although I probably wouldn’t go out of my way to buy this particular flavor again.
Have a good weekend, Nation!
Sincerely,
The JFG

I don’t listen to rap / hip hop. Basically no pop/rock music after 1984, except for Jazz & Blues.
Almost any Quest Bar, except for Cookies & Cream which I find to be awful and the Coconut one that I wouldn’t touch anyway, is greatly improved by 10-15 seconds in a microwave.
I need to find these locally and give them a try. I usually don’t care for protein bars, since they taste so–chemical-ly. However, your good reviews make me want to give these a shot.
