Review: New Honey Maid Strawberry Yogurt Creme Grahamfuls & Embarrassing Thing I’ve Done Recently That I’m Perfectly Fine With: Makeshift Sandwich Bags
Junk Food Nation, I’ve done plenty of embarrassing things that I am totally fine with, and so have you.  Usually, they are examples of skimming off the top that we all do, so don’t judge me 😉  Taking extra napkins from McDonalds to have in the car?  Guilty.  Taking extra Splendas from Starbucks for later?  I know some of you have done that too.
And I’ve done even more slightly awkward things! Bringing my lunch to work in a grocery bag? Check. Â Using wet paper towels to swiff the floor when I run out of Swiffer sheets? Yup (it doesn’t work, by the way. I’m just pushing dirt all over my apartment). Â How about washing just pillowcases but not my sheets? Â Not often, but I HAVE done that.
But Doctor Sis pointed out something that I realized I do a lot, which is using bags which AREN’T sandwich bags AS sandwich bags. Â The bag that the cold cuts COME in? Yep, I’ll tuck my sandwich into one of those. Â What? I’ll throw it out at work. Â An old bagel plastic sleeve? Done that. Â How about an empty salad bag, which has no actual ziplock or way to close it? Â It’s ok, you just roll it over on itself, and PRESTO! Instant sandwich bag.
The silly thing is I ACTUALLY HAVE A HUGE 200 COUNT BOX OF SANDWICH BAGS. Â But my crazy mind thinks, “Why waste these other bags? I can get one more re-use out of it.” Â Call me weird, I think of it as being environmentally conscious.
What about YOU Junk Food Nation? Â Tell me YOUR similar embarrassing habits in the comments below!
Today’s junk food: New Honey Maid Strawberry Yogurt Creme Grahamfuls!
New Honey Maid Strawberry Yogurt Creme Grahamfuls were seen at my local Giant Food Grocery, next to another new flavor, S’Mores Grahamfuls, which contained chocolate and marshmallow creme. Â I opted to buy the strawberry variety, (1) because I figured even if the S’Mores Grahamful was amazing, I kinda knew what it would taste like (I mean, are YOU wondering what a S’Mores Grahamful tastes like? Â Nope) and (2) there aren’t many products out there besides Oreo doing any sort of fruit creme fillings these days. So hit me with it, Honey Maid!
Honey Maid is pimping these Strawberry Yogurt Creme Grahamfuls like they are super healthy, but let’s be honest, these are basically cookies, and we like it that way. Â Do I care that my cookies give me as much calcium as a 6 oz glass of milk? Â Sure! Â But would that affect my purchase decision? Â Not really.
I’d like to see these Grahamfuls fortified by dipping them in chocolate, personally, but whatever (HINT HINT HONEY MAID. Â DIP THESE IN CHOCOLATE.)
New Honey Maid Strawberry Yogurt Creme Grahamfuls are flavored with strawberry powder, which I like, and colored with beet juice, which…..meh, I’m ok with that too. Â Better than being colored with red dye, you know? Â And I like beets.
New Honey Maid Strawberry Yogurt Creme Grahamfuls come in a box and are individually wrapped…
and this is the unwrapped version. Â Sort of looks like the Grahamfuls I’ve reviewed before. Â Classic Honey Maid Graham cracker on the outside…
…with a nice pink creme on the inside. Â I sniffed the cracker and could smell strawberry. Â Time for a bite!
I crunched one of these New Honey Maid Strawberry Yogurt Creme Grahamfuls, and WANTED to be disappointed…but I wasn’t. Â At all. Â These were pretty satisfying, in my book.
First, let’s not blow anything out of proportion. Â These aren’t the next great American snack; these are Graham crackers with fruit creme filling. Â As consumers, we just want these to not be gross. Â I think Honey Maid did a great job with these.
Tasting the creme by itself, it was sort of weird…in that it didn’t just taste like strawberry frosting, but rather DID taste like strawberry yogurt! Â It had an interesting gritty/chalkiness to it which reminded me a LOT of yogurt, and the strawberry flavor, while somewhat muted, blended perfectly with the creme to create a strawberry yogurt taste.
When chewed with the nice Honey Maid graham cracker, it all worked. Â The graham cracker itself is sort of gritty to begin with, so any strangeness with the creme was promptly masked. Â It had a good overall strawberry flavor, albeit somewhat artificial tasting, but again – reminded me of yogurt and NOT frosting. Â So it was artificial tasting to the extent that yogurt is artificial tasting. And I like how strawberry yogurt tastes…so, I liked how this tasted.
Honestly, as I crunched the mouthful, the flavor and texture in my mouth reminded me a lot of Froot Loops or Fruity Pebbles – just a nice, sweet, fruity, cereal-y chew. Â Pretty tasty, in my book, and a nice change from traditional creme sandwich cookies.
I give these a thumbs up, for what they purport to be.

Well I’m no bag hoarder but I am awkward with hugs. I really hate hugs! I kind of stand there and do the back patting thing, apparently I also make disgusted faces. Generally I try to just avoid hugging people, but if somebody goes in for one, they’re getting my awkwardness. Does that count?
They launched something similar to these over here last winter but they’re selling them as Belvita Breakfast Bars. I tried some yogurt ones and they were okay, really chemically and sweet though. Did not go back for more.
@TroutPoutt: Your Belvita’s have a creme inside???? That’s crazy.
These look similar to something we have over here in England called Belvita yogurt bars but yours look so much nicer.
@Roy: You’re the second person to mention these Belvita Yogurt bars! I need to try them…
apparently I collect napkins… from my office… and stuff them everwhere: my backpack, my purse, my shoes…. YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN YOU WON’T HAVE ANY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@Adi: That’s why I have 500 random napkins in my glove compartment
Ok, what’s so embarrassing about using the cold cuts bag to hold a sandwich? Especially when I’m making a sandwich for work, it’s the end of the lunchmeat- what better use for the bag than to put my sandwich in it. Or believe it or not it’s also handy as a small recloseable garbage bag.
@Jan: NOTHING IS EMBARRASSING ABOUT IT! I do it all the time 🙂
