Review: Limited Edition Cap’n Crunch’s Blueberry Pancake Crunch & Death, Taxes, and Conference Tournaments
JFG Nation, I must apologize – I’ve been out of pocket for the last couple days for a number of reasons. The biggest reason: I’ve been adulting and doing my taxes. “But why do you do your own taxes, Eric? Don’t you have someone to do that for you?” Yeah, it’s called me, myself, and I. For me, doing taxes isn’t hard – it’s just math. It just takes FOREVER.
So yeah – I’ve been getting home from work and crunching numbers. And to soothe my nerves, I’ve been watching endless conference tournament games. Let me tell you: UNC Wilmington, Vermont, and Middle Tennessee are going to make some NOISE in the tournament.
Just a quick note, JFG Nation. Hopefully I can get these figures shipped off and return to our regularly scheduled broadcast. Have you been adulting lately? Or watching Conference play? What teams do you like? Let me know in the comments below.
Today’s junk food: Limited Edition Cap’n Crunch’s Blueberry Pancake Crunch!!
This Blueberry Pancake Crunch has been out since January, but I only tracked it down recently. Two months later. GET A BETTER DISTRIBUTION CHAIn, CAP’N!
DO THESE TASTE GOOD? YES!
WHY OR WHY NOT? The texture of this cereal is exactly like every other Cap’n Crunch cereal – nice sweet corn balls that are light and crunchy and that will tear the roof of your mouth to shreds if you attempt to crush them with your tongue.
When I opened the box, I got an immediate smell of maple syrup – it’s almost cloying, the way it tickles my nostrils. When I crunch on a handful of this cereal, the flavor of maple syrup and of blueberry pancakes is pretty uncanny. The flavor is spot-on. It’s easy for the maple syrup flavor to slip a little too sweet and just turn into straight-on corn syrup flavor, but there’s a distinct maple feel to all of these. The blueberry pancake flavor shifts back and forth for me between pancakes and blueberry muffins, but the familiar taste is there. I’m used to Cap’n Crunch executing super sweet cereals but this one has considerable thoughtfulness when it came to flavor. Thumbs up, Cap’n.
ANYTHING ELSE I SHOULD KNOW? Will not turn your mouth blue.

The JFG

If you call adulting pulling double shifts at a fast food restaurant because high school kids are unreliable, yes, I’ve been adulting. My own blog went unupdated for 3 weeks.
Stupid Jacksonville State
Watched ACC tourney all week. Unofficial holiday here in North Carolina. Go Heels!
Doesn’t turn your tongue blue…but what about what takes place on the other end of things? Most of us over the age of 30 remember the first Smurfs cereal and the harmless, yet alarmingly festively colored bowel movements it caused.
