Today’s junk food: New Cape Cod White Cheddar Puffs!!

CHEESY POOFS!  CHEESY POOFS!

DO THESE TASTE GOOD? YES.

WHY OR WHY NOT? These tasted good, but they could’ve been SLIGHTLY better. The texture of these puffs was instantly recognizable – they reminded me a lot of your standard cheese curl, but softer. Like Puff’n Corn! Just a soft puffed corn snack that melted in my mouth when I chewed. The white cheddar flavor was creamy and present. But the one thing these lacked, which I can’t believe I’m saying this – these needed just a tad bit more salt! Maybe that was what Cape Cod was going for – a really not-salty puffed corn snack. And if so, these were amazing. But I wanted just a little bit more sodium to help bring out the savoriness of the puff. Minor quibble – otherwise, the flavor and feel of these puffs was really really nice. If you’ve been looking for a cheese puff that ISN’T a salt bomb, these are for you.

ANYTHING ELSE I SHOULD KNOW? These were actually shaped like oversized pieces of popped corn! Brilliant, Cape Cod.
