Review: Limited Edition Keebler Cinnamon Roll Fudge Stripes & Do You Still Use Facebook?
JFG Nation, I’m curious – does my audience still use Facebook? I’m old enough to remember when Friendster and MySpace existed, but Facebook flattened those competitors definitively. I thought that would be it – but obviously Twitter, Vine (RIP), Insta and SnapChat have changed the way people consume content. FB still exists, however, and it still has the largest user base with 1.79 billion active users. While I’ve been told “no one uses Facebook anymore,” it’s clear than nearly 1/4 of the world does. But how? And why?
Please let me know in the comments below:
(1) do you use Facebook still?
(2) do you primarily view Facebook on your computer, or on your phone/tablet?
(3) what do you use Facebook for? Do you use it to see baby pictures, read political posts, watch funny music videos? I.e. Do you use it for only personal/friend sharing or to consume daily news (I.e. Those news links that appear on the right side of the FB home page)?
(4) is Facebook ever the reason you come to THIS blog? (I.e. Through my JFG Facebook group page?)
Please, enlighten me in the comments below.
Today’s junk food: Limited Edition Keebler Cinnamon Roll Fudge Stripes!!
Ah I finally got you, Limited Edition Keebler Cinnamon Roll Fudge Stripes!! After weeks of searching you finally appear. Junk Banter said you were better than the Cinnamon Bun Oreos (BLASPHEMY!) OnSecondScoop didn’t love you very much at all. With cinnamon everywhere right now, it’s time to establish where you fit.
Opening the package, I sniffed and WOOOOOO these smelled sweet. They smelled EXACTLY like cinnamon rolls – that frosting aroma, that sugar and water mixture that you typically find painted on cinnamon rolls, THAT aroma was ever present. It’s a sharp smell, and unmistakeable. The cinnamon smell wafted beneath the sugar and punched me in the face.
Biting into one of these Limited Edition Keebler Cinnamon Roll Fudge Stripes, I have to say these were good – very very good. Better than the Cinnamon Bun Oreos? …well, different.
The Cinnamon Bun Oreos were like eating Cinnamon Life Cereal drenched in frosting. These almost had a more accurate flavor – the white “Fudge” replicated the gritty sugar frosting of a cinnamon roll almost perfectly. The cookies tasted a little artificial but it matched that overly floured pastry that cinnamon rolls are made of. Together, the point counterpoint of the icing and the cookie were spot on. Even the way that the icing sort of washed out the cinnamon at times was eerily similar to how cinnamon rolls sometimes eat.
I did not like these as much as the Oreos because of the texture of the cookie in comparison, but I must agree with those out there who note that these are pretty flavor-accurate. Not bad, Keebler. You did not disappoint.
PURCHASED AT: Wegmans, Germantown, MD
COST: $2.50 on sale

The JFG

I gave up on all forms of social media a long time ago. I think you and I are about the same age and I just couldn’t hang anymore, bunch of mindless dribble.
I don’t remember how I came upon this blog, I think I as bored at work one day just randomly googling things and I stumbled upon it.
This last election season was the final straw for Facebook for me. I hid or unfriended so many people it was no longer useful. I don’t need to know who the friend I haven’t seen in 30 years is voting for. Useless.
1. I joined Facebook back in 2004 when it was invite-only and for college students (man, those were the days). I still have it, but I don’t really “use” it, especially after this past election. I might check in a couple of times a week, and just quickly browse my newsfeed thing. Honestly, Facebook has morphed into something that I don’t care to use anymore.
2. 50/50 desktop and phone
3. Pretty much just check up on siblings/other family, old friends, just seeing what they’re up to. But less and less of them are posting on there, so I’m slowly migrating away from doing that.
4. Nope, I can’t remember how I found your blog. I do have you on my RSS feeds, so that’s how I keep up-to-date on your blog.
I use FB but just for family stuff and even that is getting more rare as most of my family posts either far right or far left stuff and I’m just tired of it.
I use FB primarily to look at pictures of decorated cookies (my hobby) and to message a close friend. I am the rare bird that doesn’t have a cell phone yet. I live in an extremely rural area that has only had cell service about 5 years and the service still isn’t good enough to use the phone at my house.
I have pretty much opted out of all information from FB ‘friends’ because I honestly don’t care all that much to see multiple selfies.
I use a computer to view anything online since I don’t have a phone.
I think I found you through a junk food Google search. Funny thing is that I don’t eat fast food but I am extremely interested in reading reviews. I have no idea why…
Yeah, I still use facebook, more than I should. Mainly just mindless scrolling of the newsfeed on the computer or phone. I can’t remember how I stumbled on your blog, but I found the facebook page through the blog. Your facebook posts remind me to click through and check out the website for updates, so yes I am led through it sometimes. Don’t stop!
Facebook? LOL. “Hey, let’s make a website where all your high school enemies & nosy friends & relatives can check up on your personal life!”
The biggest complaint I hear about Facebook is that it’s all so fake. Everybody is so fake. Apparently nobody ever is sad, in a bad mood or is having tough times. If anything, I was hoping this last election would finally kill Facebook for good. Nobody needs to be in your business 24/7.
I think I found this site through Ryan’s blog, which I found through the web.
Aside from my page…I got bullied off of Facebook by a now-former coworker who I had blocked. It was easier to just delete my account. I did reactivate it and now use it for gaming purposes only. Not to keep up with friends. That’s what texts are for.
Actually, in my case, your question is a very timely one. I have been a faithful FB user for years, but I’m just getting ready to permanently delete my account. Mostly for all of the reasons cited above. I was using it as a way to keep up with family living far from me. However, I will find other methods to do that now since I’m really tired of facebook. I found you from another food blog, grub grade. I don’t follow your fb page. I did follow your twitter for a while, but I so rarely use twitter. The only reason I use fb is to keep up with friends, occasionally view a trash and treasure site and see a daily specials post from a local restaurant.
I’m in my 40’s and have NEVER had a FB account. My husband has one & I occasionally look at his feed or whatever it’s called just to see what my sister-in-law and her kiddos are up to. I’ve looked up a few people….and it is just so ‘something’…disingenuous, fake whatever…..I don’t care for it. It seems to be a more older people type of thing these days. My millennial nephew isn’t on it, nor is his teenage sister.
I am a Twitter fan….quick and to the point. I stumbled upon your blog on the web…searching reviews most likely. I love your blog.
I was in college when Facebook first came out. I didn’t get on the bandwagon then and still have no desire. I have plenty of things that I regularly read online that I don’t really need it.
I have an iPhone 6 Plus and use it for calls, texts, checking weather, and reading news. If someone needs to get hold of me, they know how to do so. And I like reading materials in print!
I found your blog through a Google search–you were a relatively new blogger! 🙂
1. rarely. I prefer SnapFace.
2. laptop
