Holiday Hiatus; When Holidays Sneak Up On You!
JFG Nation, when I was younger, Christmas couldn’t get here fast enough. The holiday season for me personally was spent doing Christmas events at school, Christmas concerts with the band, attending random Christmas parties with my family and then counting down the days to Christmas while I watched every Christmas special on TV on repeat. The days. THE DAYS. The days couldn’t move fast enough.
Fast forward to now. Work work work. Trying to figure out leave from work to go home for the holidays. Trying to manage holiday cards and fit in shopping. Deciding whether to have that extra serving of cookies at your office holiday party since your belt is already too tight. And, of course, wishing the time would go a little slower so you could fit everything in. Do you feel this way? Did the holiday season sneak up on you too? Let me know in the comments below.
The result on my end? Sparse blog posts! I was on a plane all day yesterday, and forgot to take some review pictures before I left because I was running from work to home to events to *HEAD EXPLODING* *BANK ACCOUNT RUPTURING* *DOZENS OF HOLIDAY TREATS SPILLING OUT*
So this is my EFF IT moment – I’m tucking it in for the Christmas weekend, especially since I’m in California right now. I started out the holiday weekend right with fries from Roam Burger in Lafayette:
Celebrating with a little tray of fried things? That’s the holiday spirit if I ever heard it!
The little round tray is so cute! The cutest way to consume 2000 calories!
No but seriously, Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, Season’s Greetings to each and every one of you. The truth is I could care less what you celebrate; while I personally like a bit of Christmas cheer, I just want everyone to eat a lot and be happy. Go do that this weekend.
I’ll be docu-fooding my entire weekend, so you’re going to want to follow me on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram. Oh yeah and watching approximately 30 hours of basketball and football. Hit me up if you wanna jaw about sports.
Sincerely,
The JFG
