MICRO-REVIEW: Limited Edition Keebler Peppermint Fudge Stripes
Today’s junk food: Limited Edition Keebler Peppermint Fudge Stripes!!
So what’s Keebler’s answer to the multitude of Oreo flavors and the plethora of Milano flavors? Dressing up these Fudge Stripe cookies! I’ve reviewed some of the varieties in the past, and they haven’t been bad. Next up: these Limited Edition Keebler Peppermint Fudge Stripes!
Opening the package, I got a light smell of peppermint. The cookies were light with white fudge coating/stripes, and the cookies had little red (mint?) speckles in the dough. Biting into one, the flavor was surprisingly measured – I’ve liked the combo of white fudge and peppermint in the past (see: Rold Gold Peppermint Snowflakes and Hostess Peppermint Twinkies), and these cookies are no exception. I think it’s the creaminess that white fudge brings that helps mute the edges of peppermint so it doesn’t taste like a candy cane.
Here, the creamy minty flavor sat very well on top of the crunchy slightly sugary cookie. Good crunch, good flavor, and interestingly not a ton of waxiness in the aftertaste, something I’ve complained about before. These were…these were pretty good! I liked them. BUY!
PURCHASED AT: Target, Germantown, MD.
COST: $2.50.
Sincerely,
The JFG
