MICRO-REVIEW: Turkey Hill Haymakers Sweet Tea & Lightly Sweet Tea
Today’s review: Turkey Hill Haymakers Sweet Tea & Lightly Sweet Tea!!
Turkey Hill Haymakers Sweet Tea & Lightly Sweet Tea are the last two Haymakers drinks that were sent to me by Turkey Hill (Lemon Punch here, Cider here).
I’ve had plenty of Turkey Hill Iced Tea and Sweet Tea in my day, and I’ll admit – I stopped drinking it because it was a littttttle too sweet. Ok, more than a little bit too sweet. It was very sweet. And it had corn syrup in it, which I’m not hugely opposed to but explains the cloying flavor.
But these two teas? I loved them! First, they used sugar instead of corn syrup. Second, the Sweet Tea had 2-3 grams less carb than their normal tea, and the Light Tea has more than half the carb!
Flavor wise, while the Sweet Tea was still sweeeet, it wasn’t cloying and the added Haymakers ingredients gave the tea a crisper finish – it ended with more of a molasses / flavor rather than the semi dry tea tongue-smacking finish. Very smooth.
I actually liked the Light Tea even more because the sugar was decreased and the tea flavor was really really noticeable. This brought the honey/molasses flavor even more to the forefront.
But these were good! I personally think they were a definite improvement over the current tea line. Thumbs waaaaay up.
