JFG NATION. I’ve been traveling on the West Coast, but I’m back and ready to rock with four more games of NFL action this weekend. Let’s see if I can do a little better after my poor showing last week (lines and O/U are from ESPN.com this morning):

Chiefs @ Patriots (-5.0), O/U 43: The weather at Foxboro today is rainy rain and basically freezing. Conventional wisdom says this favors a run game, which is KC’s surprising strength. I had Tom Brady on my fantasy team, and while he can still put up decent numbers, I will say: This offense can be had, especially by a team with as rock solid of a defense as Kansas City. To me, this comes down to NE’s kicker and the special teams of KC. If KC can gain an edge there, like they did last week, then Alex Smith will have the best chance possible to win this game. Otherwise, even if KC stops Brady, Stephen Gostkowski can keep bombing in 50-yarders. I think CHIEFS COVER the 5.0, and I’d go UNDER in parlay.

Packers @ Cardinals (-7), O/U 49.5: I could be wrong, but I think the last time Carson Palmer was in the playoffs was when he hurt his knee with the Bengals in what SHOULD have been the Bengals best shot at a Super Bowl run in 2006. It’s been ten years since then. Carson is READY, and this Arizona team is rolling in every way. Yes, I know that GB dismantled Washington last week, but that hurry up offense isn’t going to be as effective against a ARZ defense that has a way more athletic secondary. I feel like this one isn’t even close, ARIZONA COVERS with ease. I’d avoid the O/U here.

Seahwaks @ Panthers (-2), O/U 44: Huh, Panthers only getting 2 points at home? Vegas money knows that the Seahawks barely-win over the Vikings doesn’t mean they are a bad team, and this is the week Seattle shows it. I kept expecting the Russell Wilson offense to be POPPING against Minnesota, but maybe everyone was right, and the cold made the difference. I was certainly wrong about the O/U. This week, however, it’s gonna be mid-40s (yet still WET). Both teams will have big offensive days, and I think the OVER this week is a certainty. I think the SEAHAWKS COVER/WIN. No disrespect to the Panthers – I just think the long bombs to Doug Baldwin will be more successful than the long bombs to Ted Ginn Jr.

Steelers @ Broncos (-7.5), O/U 40: Ugh, this game should be better, but with Big Ben at not-full-strength, this might be a boat race. The problem is when Ben came BACK in the game last week, he could barely throw five yards. That bodes well for no one, especially Martavius Bryant and Antonio Brown. Yeah…while I think the Steelers had the most offensive firepower of any team on the AFC side, now with the QB’s injury, I see that hungry Denver defense just shredding this team. It almost doesn’t matter what Peyton does – as long as he is servicable, I see DENVER COVERing here. Lame.

Today’s junk food: Bourbon Barbecue Chicken Pringles!!

Bourbon Barbecue Chicken Pringles: The Money Shot

Apparently, Bourbon Barbecue is a type of sauce mixture that occurs in Kentucky. I’ve never had it, and to be honest when I think Bourbon Chicken, all I can think of is the free samples I get at the mall that the Chinese food place is handing out…and the barbecue place is handing out….and the sandwich place is handing out. WHY IS EVERY PLACE IN THE MALL FOOD COURT HANDING OUT SAMPLES OF BOURBON CHICKEN?

Anyways, bourbon chicken is one thing. This is not bourbon chicken, this is bourbon BBQ chicken. Bourbon Barbecue Chicken Pringles are here…let’s do pics and then the review:

Opening this can of Bourbon Barbecue Chicken Pringles, I smelled an immediate typical BBQ potato chip smell with a tinge of vinegar. They smelled decently like smoke too. Each chip was mildly doused with red powder.

Chomping on a few of these Bourbon Barbecue Chicken Pringles, the first flavor I got was a REALLY strong sort of weird but sort of good chicken-y flavor…almost like a smoked chicken jerky taste. It was sweet, and smoky, and salty, and tasted a bit of soy…like a bit of meat that had been preserved and turned into a piece of jerky.

The chicken flavor, however, was definitely noticeable, but definitely fell into that chicken bouillon category of chicken flavors. I smacked my tongue afterwards and there was definitely some chicken-y residue there. All in all, these were a decent BBQ potato chip – I liked it better than original Barbecue Pringles, because these have a bit more brown sugar and soy sweetness. But definitely not one of the best Pringles I’ve ever had.

I’d buy ’em again, if on sale.
