New Keebler Cinnamon Roll Cookies & Leaving People in the Dust…At a Traffic Light
Junk Food Nation, life is all about small pleasures. And nothing makes me more happy than leaving other cars behind in the dust…when I just make a yellow-to-red light. Are you like me in this regard?
Let me explain. I’ll be driving along in DC, and in my rear there will be several cars. Up ahead, a green light. Suddenly, it turns yellow. I step on the gas (that’s safe) in order to speed and make the intersection before the light turns a full red. So do all the other cars behind me. I race ahead, speeding up 10 additional MPH, and then as I cross the intersection, I see the yellow light turn to red. YES! And then I look in my rear view mirror, and see all the other cars behind me still stuck at the traffic light. HA HA! SEE YA LATER SUCKERS!
Sidenote 1: I’ve sometimes NOT made the yellow light, caught the red, and then unsafely gone through the intersection anyways. Don’t do what I do, kids.
Sidenote 2: It’s also embarrassing when there are TWO traffic lights near each other, and while I catch the first one, the second is red already. So then I slow to a stop, and I see all the others who I *just* left behind slowly catch up to me. Sigh. Can’t ANYTHING go my way??
Sidenote 3: While I take joy in burning the light, I get annoyed if just one more car also makes it. If I see another car who also made the light to my right-rear in my blind spot, I’m like, “Who do you think you are, fast and the furious? You’re not safe, buddy.” Meanwhile, I am plotting their demise at the next light. BWAHAHA.
Hey while I have you here, let’s keep the whole TWO QUESTION survey thing going, shall we? For those of you who read my post yesterday, you know what this is about. Help a Junk Food Guy out, huh?

Today’s junk food: New Keebler Cinnamon Roll Cookies!
New Keebler Cinnamon Roll Cookies were found at my local grocery, and they were on sale! My favorite time to buy junk food. Normally, Keebler cookies don’t appeal to me – they are loaded with oils and their variations are less than inspiring: Oh, Chips Deluxe? And now you made it Chewy? And now you made it Oatmeal? And now you made it zzzzzzzzzzzzzz…… You get my point.
It’s strange too – because I’ve reviewed Keebler items three times before, and raved about each one. So why am I avoiding? Dunno. Of course, when I saw that Keebler would be partnering with CINNABON for these New Keebler Cinnamon Roll Cookies – I HAD TO HAVE. Reminds me of this:
It is indeed sticky without pants on.
I like it when two companies join forces to create snacks, most of the time. I mean, I just reviewed Frank’s Hot Sauce and Pringles coming together…why not Cinnabon and Keebler? I wanna see more of this in the future… Shake Shack and Lay’s. CarFax and Skittles. Virgin Airlines and Snickers.
New Keebler Cinnamon Roll Cookies look, according to the package, just like cinnamon danishes. This could be dangerous (for my cholesterol).
New Keebler Cinnamon Roll Cookies are 75 calories per cookie, which isn’t great, and they are loaded with preservatives. I still think I’m gonna love these.
If they could become overheated, THEN JUST SUGGEST WE HEAT THEM FOR 3-5 SECONDS AND NOT 6-9 SECONDS! Use your head, Keebler!
I opened the package of these New Keebler Cinnamon Roll Cookies and HOLY MOLY THEY LOOK JUST LIKE LITTLE CINNAMON ROLLS! WHAAATT!???? And the smell wafting off of them was the Cinnabon smell you get at the mall – that super sweet frosting and cinnamon smell. DING DING DING WINNER!
Each of these New Keebler Cinnamon Roll Cookies was sort of small, about the size of a large pepperoni. But they looked fantastic nonetheless. And I give Keebler credit here – it helps that the way the cookie looks not only matches the look on the packaging but also it matches what we imagine these cookies SHOULD look like! If these Cinnamon Roll cookies looked like sandwich cookies, it wouldn’t have the same appeal as here, where you can sink your teeth in, satisfyingly breaking lines of frosting with your teeth.
Up close, you can see the goods – the dough is baked with cinnamon in it, and the center is filled with cinnamon and sugar. Then these New Keebler Cinnamon Roll Cookies are piped with 3-4 lines of thin white frosting. Holy cow.
CHOMP CHOMP CHOMP* oh sorry I almost couldn’t stop shoving these into my face. These New Keebler Cinnamon Roll Cookies were absurd. In a good way.
One bite, and I knew that Keebler hit the nail right on the head. The dough was sweet and had that high refined flour taste – sort of off putting normally in a cookie, but tasted EXACTLY like the dough you’d find in a Cinnabon! The cinnamon taste from the filling was SUPER STRONG, and very satisfying – sweet and full of cinnamon spice flavor. And the lines of frosting crunched ever so slightly in a very satisfying manner, providing a burst of sugar for the entire chew.
Basically, IT TASTED LIKE A CINNABON. It was, with the exception that it was a soft-ish chewy cookie instead of a doughy mass, EXACTLY LIKE A CINNABON. Gold Medal, Keebler! Now someone get this package away from me before I eat more!
PURCHASED AT: Giant Grocery
COST: $4.15 (on sale for $2.50)

Oh how I love being a dick while driving at times. My favorite thing to do is when someone is tailgating me i open my moonroof and go all mario cart on them.
On to the cookies, I don’t know why I keep passing these up. They seem like they would make awesome wafers for mini ice cream sandwiches. That and an awesome snacking cookie. As for the nutritional side, compared to other cookies like treats, they’re on par if you go gram for gram. So they aren’t all the bad for you in comparison;].
@Nick: Adding ice cream would make these king, for sure.
OMG, Cinnabon cookie ice cream sandwiches? Genius!!! With a little vanilla ice cream – or maybe fancy with some dulce de leche ice cream – amazing idea…
I saw these come in a caramel pecan version as well so I think vanilla would work nicely with those and dulce with these.
@Nick: Pecan and Dulce — mmmmmmmmm
You got me extremely excited about these! I haven’t had a Cinnabon since the last time I was on the NJ Turnpike a year ago! Glad to know that I can have the Cinnabon taste anytime I want now.
@DnD- ahhhh, cinnabon on the Turnpike… complete with a slice from SBarro
Much prefer the Louis CK Cinnabon routine. Link.
Yes, it’s raunchier. Yes, it’s got the homophobic f-word in it (which does detract, seriously), but his delivery is so much better than Gaffigan’s.
@Shorneys: Can’t we like both? Can’t we all get along?
Ice cream makes everything better, maybe even that milkis stuff. Ya prob not!
@WIll: LOL
I almost died in a state of pure ecstasy when eating these.
@Charlotte: I felt the exact same way
