Junk Food Guy Seeking: Limited Edition Holiday Spice Pepsi / Christmas Pepsi & Sunday Week 12 NFL Moneyline Picks!
Junk Food Nation, sorry for the slap-dash out of order nature of this post – dealing with some technical issues over here. Anyways, last week for my Week 11 picks, I was 11-4 on the Moneyline. Yeah, that’s right. Eat your heart out, Brandon Lang. And given my Thanksgiving picks, I am 2-1 heading into today’s NFL tilt. (Baltimore, I underestimated you. Sorry.)
But first, as the holidays drawn near (or are in full swing, depending on how obsessed you are), I am being flooded with limited edition holiday treats. And one I’ve been looking for in particular for a long time is: Limited Edition Holiday Spice Pepsi! (seen above)
Holiday Spice Pepsi was a cinnamon-based Pepsi that was released in 2004 and 2006 here in the US. It was bubbly and sweet and had a nice finish of cinnamon. I remember partaking of this beverage in high school. The following couple of years, they released this same mix as Christmas Pepsi, with a little more spicy mix in the blend (Wiki reveals that coca and nutmeg were added). BUT, since that time, Pepsi has not, in the past four years, released a new holiday Pepsi soft drink.
Why????? Why oh why, Pepsi? I needs me some spicy cola to supplement my holiday experience! Are you too busy shooting X-Factor? Here’s a newsflash – just give the contract to Josh Krajik already, and start cracking on some holiday brew. Thanks.
Without further ado, my remaining Week 12 picks:
Houston Texans @ Jacksonville Jaguars: Despite me thinking Matt Leinart is a bum of a QB, Blaine Gabbert is even worse right now. Yucky. Houston’s run game steals the show here, as Arian Foster and Ben Tate (and Derrick Ward) run all day long to victory. TEXANS.
Buffalo Bills @ NY Jets: BUUFFAAALLLLOOOOOOOO! Ok, THIS WEEK my Bills take it. Mark it down – Mark Sanchez is a little sissy boy. BILLS.
Cleveland Browns @ Cincinnati Bengals: Newsflash: If not for Cam Newton, Andy Dalton would be Rookie of the Year. All the ginger-headed rookie has done is throw for 15 TDs with a near-80% QB rating. Nbad for a guy from TCU leading an awful team in his first year. AJ Green helps, of course. BENGALS.
Minnesota Vikings @ Atlanta Falcons: No Adrian Peterson means no offense. This is easy – FALCONS.
Arizona Cardinals @ St. Louis Rams: You know, I really thought STL could pull it out last week, but they were really really bad. This week will be different, with the Cards being led by John Skelton again. RAMS (cmon you jerks).
Carolina Panthers @ Indianapolis Colts: The only team worse than the Panthers IS the Colts. Cam Newton is a stud, and they will be in line to get an amazing weapon on offense or future Pro-Bowl lineman next year with the #2 overall pick. Bitter (for my Bills). PANTHERS.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Tennessee Titans: Chris Johnson is a fraud and a thief. Yeah, I said it. The Bucs have been playing surprsingly better, and I see them finally getting over the hump in this road game. LaGarrette Blount is not a fraud. BUCS.
Chicago Bears @ Oakland Raiders: Caleb Hanie can’t be too bad, can he? Can he? Ugh. The Bears are too talented but have lost Jay Cutler, while the Raiders are on the uptick and playing at home… I’ll pick the RAIDERS in this one, but I’m not happy about it.
Washington Redskins @ Seattle Seahawks: Seattle’s field is the hardest place to play on the road, bar none. Yes, I know Tavaris Jackson sucks. Yes, I hate Marshawn Lynch and his stupid “Beast Mode.” But have you SEEN the Redskins lately? Icky. SEAHAWKS.
Denver Broncos @ San Diego Chargers: Philip Rivers plans on throwing several TDs to make sure there is no Tebow Time this week. The Chargers should get ahead and STAY ahead. CHARGERS.
New England Patriots @ Philly Eagles: Philly is dangerous, yes. And New England is missing KEY players on defense… but do I trust Vince Young? I really don’t. NEW ENGLAND.
New York Giants @ New Orleans Saints: See, the thing that worries me about the Giants is that their defense was ALL over the place last week, and they somehow couldn’t run the ball (DAMN YOU BRANDON JACOBS!) Will a week change anything? I’m not so sure. You’re going into Drew Brees’ house. SAINTS take it.
So there you go, JFN – my Week 12 picks. Happy football Sunday!

I don’t know if your still looking for holiday spice pepsi but I definatly just found a 2 liter in my cabinet of it.
@Morgan – LOL! From what year!?
I made a pumpkin spice simple syrup and added it to Pepsi and got it to taste similar. A lot of sugar, but probably not as bad as the “flavor shots” some restaurants use.
@Wil: OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, interesting. I’ll have to make a personal concoction too
